FCF Awarded $100,000 Board Engagement Grant

“I am very excited and proud that the Fayette Community Foundation board members rose to the challenge and will be receiving $100,000 from Lilly Endowment Inc.,” said FCF Board President, Colin Judd. “With this money we will be able to increase the positive impact we have on the local community that the board cares so much about.”

In 1990 Lilly Endowment Inc. began an initiative to establish and strengthen community foundations across Indiana. Since then, the program known as “Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow” (GIFT) has helped each of the State’s 92 counties, including Fayette, grow their community foundations’ assets collectively to about $2.4 billion.

GIFT VII is the latest phase of the initiative. The Fayette Community Foundation (FCF) has reached an important milestone in the program and was awarded a $100,000 “Board Engagement Grant”. Each of FCF’s 11 board members donated a minimum of $500 to secure the gift.  Board members’ donations total $11,950.

The “Matching Funds Grant” is another component of GIFT VII designed to help FCF grow. When community members donate to any of FCF’s Community IMPACT Endowments, it will be matched 2:1 by Lilly Endowment Inc. For example, your gift of $100 becomes $300. These matching dollars are only available through 12/31/2020 or until $500,000 is raised. With just six months left, another $20,000 in donations is needed to reach the goal.

Please make a gift today to ensure these funds are received to support the Fayette County community forever. Gifts can be made online at: givetofcf.com. Checks may be mailed to: FCF, 521 Central Ave, Suite A Connersville, Indiana 47331.
