History

Founded in 1986, the Fayette County Foundation is the community’s resource for charitable giving.

In 1986, the Connersville Chamber of Commerce created the Greater Connersville Progressive Committee and the Fayette County Foundation. Leading the Committee was Robert E. Price, Harold Reihman, and Jerry Wilson. These men, along with others, saw a need to develop a community foundation to help seed important community initiatives. From its humble beginnings of $20,000 to today’s endowments exceeding $13 million, the Fayette County Foundation’s success has been a result of the generosity of people like you.

Our personalized services have helped individuals, families, and businesses create more that 170 permanent endowments from gifts and bequests. These unique funds are as varied as the donors who created them. The funds range in value from $5,000 to millions of dollars, and support a variety of community needs.

Board of Directors govern the Fayette County Foundation. Directors determine policy, endowment development, and provide oversight of the Foundation’s operations. The Foundation serves the entire county by assisting donors and meeting community needs.
