Foundation Supports CHS School-Based Pantry
Holly Dunn, Freshman Success Coach at CHS, is helped by student volunteers to unload the Gleaner’s truck delivery. More than a dozen students helped Holly unload the truck, which delivered over 2,000 pounds of food for the CHS pantry.
The CHS Pantry began last year through funding by Gleaner’s Food Bank and is open to all CHS students whose families might need extra food or clothing. The Foundation is proud to support the Pantry and Gleaner’s with a $10,000 grant.
Gleaner’s School-Based Pantry Program meets today’s hunger challenges head-on by giving students tools to stay in school, put food on the family table, and connect their parents with the school. Program objectives are to reduce hunger, improve attendance, and build relationships between families and the school.
