COVID-19 Rapid Relief Fund Established to Help Local Organizations

COVID-19 Rapid Relief FundThe Fayette Community Foundation (FCF) has established a COVID-19 Rapid Relief Fund to assist community-based organizations addressing immediate needs as well as short- and longer-term impacts during the outbreak and recovery from the pandemic. 100% of these gifts will support the Fayette County community.

For organizations seeking help, a simplified grant application process will make funds available more quickly. Download the brief application.

Granting Approach
The Community Foundation in consultation and partnership with other community entities, will administer grants from the Fund in phases to help
address immediate needs.

During Phase One, priority will be given to community-based organizations that are helping to flatten the curve. This phase includes organization applying for funds and proactively identifying potential grant recipients.

Flattening the Curve:  It’s the idea that society can slow the rate of infection for contagious diseases by taking measures like canceling schools, closing businesses, or sheltering in place. The hope is to reduce the number of patients who need urgent medical care all at once.

In order to move resources quickly and not further burden nonprofit organizations, during Phase One there will not be a formal application process for the fund. Agencies providing immediate basic needs relief can email Morgan Hamilton at mhamilton@givetofcf.com to share their needs so they can be considered during the granting process.

Grants will be released on a rolling basis as fundraising continues throughout the outbreak and recovery phases of the crisis, making it possible to move resources quickly and adapt to evolving needs in subsequent granting phases. Grants from the fund will be recommended by an advisory committee, Recipients of grants will be asked to submit a brief summary of how the grant dollars were used related to the crisis relief, response or recovery efforts.
