About You
We have a few Fayette Community Foundation eligibility requirements in order to help narrow our pool of applicants. These criteria apply to all scholarships – but each scholarship may have additional requirements that align with their area of special interest, for example: a desired area of study or career aspirations or participation in a sport or club. There’s something for everyone!
It is important that you review the list of available scholarships to see which one(s) might be the best fit for you. You will have to select the scholarships you’re eligible for as part of your application.
In general, you must:
- Have applied to and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school,
- Have a 3.0 or higher GPA,
- Be a graduating senior of Connersville High School OR a graduating high school senior that resides in Fayette County.
We have scholarships that support future nursing students, engineers, communication majors, tradespeople, education, ministry, artists, and those interested in agriculture. They’re also seeking students that have a history in 4H, golf, swimming, tennis, and basketball – or even a specific church affiliation. Did you make the 10% of your graduating class? We have a scholarship for you. If it took you a little longer to catch up and you only made the top 50%, that’s okay: there’s a scholarship for you, too. Do you live in a specific community or township? Your zip code might be the key to some financial aid!
Scholarship Facts
There are 51 different scholarships available, and some are awarded to multiple applicants. The Fayette Community Foundation is proud to have been awarding scholarships to deserving Connersville High School seniors for more than 30 years. The average scholarship amount awarded is about $2,300 – which makes a big difference when you’re looking at tuition, textbooks, lab fees, and more. We help bridge the gap between the increasing cost of tuition and what local students can afford to pay out of pocket. In 2025, we were pleased to award $106,516.42.
Our scholarship funds come from the vision and inspiration of generous donors who wanted to invest in the youth of Fayette County and encourage children to continue their education. The Fayette Community Foundation serves as the administrator of these scholarships, and we help these funds grow so that they may continue to support our local students for generations to come.
We know that students must leave Fayette County to access higher education, but the scholarship founders have all had faith that supporting young students would help establish even stronger ties with the community. These ties – to the sources of their scholarship, to their families, to the place that feels familiar – help call our graduates back home once they’ve achieved their degrees and certifications. This investment in education brings talent, drive, and creativity back to our community.
We are proud to be the steward of these scholarships, and we sincerely hope to see your name on the list of 2026 recipients.
