Traditional scholarships are awarded to current Connersville High School seniors. Below are descriptions of all the traditional scholarships that are stewarded by the Fayette County Foundation. Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School or a graduating high school senior that resides in Fayette County.
Al and Rene Doyle 4-H Buckaroo Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School.
- Applicant must have been a 4-H Buckaroo for at least 5 years, with preference given to 10-year Buckaroos.
- Financial need will be a consideration.
Albert and Wilda M. Pearson Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School.
- Applicant must be pursuing a nursing degree.
Alden and Caroline Rose Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School.
Alquina School PTO Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School.
- Applicant must live in the Alquina community.
Andy Thielking Golfing Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School.
- Applicant must have been a member of the CHS Boys’ or Girls’ Golf Team.
Andy Thielking Swimming Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School.
- Applicant must have been a member of the CHS Boys’ or Girls’ Swim Team.
Anna Thomson Memorial Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School.
Bill Rose Memorial Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School or a graduating high school senior that resides in Fayette County.
Charles R. Leming Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School.
Chester C. O'Neal Memorial Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School or a graduating high school senior that resides in Fayette County.
Chuck Boulware Tennis Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School.
- Applicant must have been a member of the Connersville High School Boys’ or Girls’ Tennis team.
Class of 1962 Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School.
- Priority will be given to an applicant that is related to a member of the Connersville High School graduating class of 1962. Applicants will be asked to provide the name of their relative.
Connersville High School Class of 1952 Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School.
Dale and Kris Thomas Family Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School or a graduating high school senior that resides in Fayette County.
- Applicant must be pursuing a degree in the agriculture field.
Fayette Community Foundation Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School or a graduating high school senior that resides in Fayette County.
Fayette County 4-H Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School or a graduating high school senior that resides in Fayette County.
- Applicant must be a 10-year 4-H member.
- Applicant must have actively participated in 4-H in home grown and/or in homemade projects.
Fayette County Free Fair 4-H Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School or a graduating high school senior that resides in Fayette County.
- Applicant must be a 4-H member, with preference given to a 10-year member.
- Financial need will be a consideration.
- Applicant must have actively participated in 4-H in home grown and/or in home made projects.
Fayette County Master Gardeners and Friends Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School or a graduating high school senior that resides in Fayette County.
- Preference will be given to applicants who are pursuing higher education in fields such as horticulture, landscaping, agriculture, or other related fields.
Fayette County Scholars to Mentors Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School.
- Applicant must be in the top 50% of their graduating class.
- Financial need will be a consideration.
First United Methodist Church Joseph Newkirk Scholarship
- Must be attending an accredited four-year college or university or technical school
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School.
- Preference will be to an active member of First United Methodist Church in Connersville.
Gene and Jane Guttman Whitewater Career Center Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School or a graduating high school senior that resides in Fayette County.
- Applicant must have completed a 2-year WCC program upon graduation.
George L. and Ruth Kerrigan Memorial Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School.
- Financial need will be a consideration.
George S. and Cornelia D. (Sinks and Connie) Tatman Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School or a graduating high school senior that resides in Fayette County.
- Applicant must be pursuing a degree in the communication field.
Harold and Shirley Reihman Engineering Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School.
- Applicant must be pursuing an engineering degree.
- Two applicants will be selected annually.
Harold and Shirley Reihman Registered Nurse Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School.
- Priority will be given to an applicant pursuing a Registered Nursing degree. If no applicant fits the criteria, an applicant pursuing a degree in the medical field may be selected.
- Two applicants will be selected annually.
Harrison Lodge #84 IOOF Agricultural Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School.
- Applicant must be a resident of Fairview, Harrison, or Posey Township.
- Applicant must be pursuing a degree in agriculture.
Helen Cooper Luckett Scholarship
- Applicant must be planning to attend and be accepted to Indiana University East.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School or a graduating high school senior that resides in Fayette County.
Henry A. and Jean Zumkeller Positive Attitude Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an Indiana accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School.
- The award will be primarily based on the student’s positive attitude and influence, as well as on his or her work ethic.
- Applicants must submit letters of recommendation.
James T. and Robert E. Price Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School or a graduating high school senior that resides in Fayette County.
James W. Robertson Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School.
- Applicant must be pursuing a degree in art.
John and Harriet Darcy Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School or a graduating high school senior that resides in Fayette County.
Ken Rowe Memorial Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School.
- Applicant must be pursuing a degree in elementary education.
Lewis Memorial Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an in-state public accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School.
- This renewable scholarship will be awarded every four years to one male and female recipient (not eligible for payout again until 2027).
- Financial need will be a consideration.
- During postgrad the applicant must hold at least a B average as a full time student to be eligible for scholarship renewal.
Lucille A. McIntyre Registered Nursing Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School or a graduating high school senior that resides in Fayette County.
- Applicant must be pursuing a registered nursing degree.
- Financial need will be a consideration.
Marion Hobbs Moore Education Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School.
- Applicant must be pursuing a degree in education and/or ministry.
- Applicant must be able to demonstrate work history during high school.
Matt Howard Outstanding Achievement Award
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.7 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School.
- Performed outstanding on the court or playing field.
- Preference will be given to a basketball player.
Meeks Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School.
- Financial need will be a consideration.
Merle and Wilma Studt Service Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School or a graduating high school senior that resides in Fayette County.
- Preference given to students based on their community service and membership in 4-H.
Midge Metz Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School.
Nicole Riggs Simpson Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School.
- Applicant must be pursuing a degree in education.
- Financial need will be a consideration.
Purdue Club Scholarship
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School or a graduating high school senior that resides in Fayette County.
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to a Purdue University.
- Scholarship will be awarded after the recipient has been on campus for one semester.
R.L. “Dock” Haley Memorial Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School.
- Preference will be given to an applicant who is planning to earn a degree in Christian Ministry. Second preference will be given to an applicant planning to attend a technical, vocational or trade school.
Robert L. Joy Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School.
The Rogers Family Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an Indiana university or trade school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School.
- Applicant must be pursuing a degree in engineering or industrial technology.
- Scholarship will be awarded after the recipient has completed a full year on a college campus pursuing an engineering degree.
Thomas L. Tarvin Family Scholarship
- Applicant must be planning to attend and be accepted to Eastern Kentucky University.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School.
- Scholarship will be awarded after the recipient has been on campus for one semester.
Walter L. Reed and Margaret I. Reed Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School or another high school located in Fayette County.
- Financial need will be a consideration.
- Two applicants will be selected annually.
Wanda Jeffries Memorial Scholarship
- Applicant must be planning to attend and be accepted to Indiana University East.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School.
William (Bill) and Phyllis Moran Family Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
- Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Applicant must be a graduating senior of Connersville High School.
- Applicant must be in the top 10% of the graduating class.
Winifred Risley Lambert Nursing Scholarship
- Applicant must have applied and been accepted to an accredited university, college, or technical school.
